City Council member Larry Green forwards an announcement for the city's summer jobs program. The program allows those 16-21 years of age to earn money while exploring careers. Applications will be accepted online until March 18.

The new streets planned for Linkwood are a product of the City of Houston Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Since 1984, the City has held public meetings to obtain citizen input before preparation of the capital budget. These meetings provide citizens the opportunity to participate in the capital budget process by contributing comments and suggestions about needed services and improvements.

The Braeswood Super Neighborhood and Friends of Linkwood Park are currently discussing SNAP (Super Neighborhood Action Plan) and CIP requests for future CIP budgets.  Please plan to attend the District K CIP meeting to show your support.  The 2016 meeting is planned for Thursday evening, March 10 at 6:30pm at Willowridge High School, 16301 Chimney Rock, 77053.

The Linkwood Ladies shared some Linkwood love at their February meeting held at the home of Suzi Phelps.  The ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch, followed by some heartfelt crafting. Colorful handmade valentines were sent to former Linkwood Ladies who have moved away or are unable to attend LWL meetings.  It was a fun morning of big hearts. The March meeting of Linkwood Ladies is scheduled for Wednesday evening, March 9 at the home of Anna Highnote.
