Join Us for the Annual Linkwood Spring Meeting!

Linkwood Annual Neighborhood Meeting
Come meet your neighbors, catch up on Linkwood news, hear from our Council Member, and enjoy a meal together! Free dinner from Fajita Pete's will be served starting at 5:00 PM. Bring the kids and your swimsuits!

When: Saturday, May 10th, 5:00–7:00 PM
Where: 8718 Linkmeadow
We'll have plenty of tables set up for dining, but please bring your own chair. Water and sodas will be provided.

Special Guest:
Council Member Martha Castex-Tatum plans to join us and will speak at the beginning of the meeting. Please arrive early so you don’t miss her remarks!

Meeting Summary:
This year’s annual meeting is open to all Linkwood residents. We’ve temporarily waived the requirement of dues payment to attend, hoping to engage more neighbors and encourage broader participation.

The Linkwood Civic Club was created to enable the neighborhood to develop and maintain common areas, and to provide for social welfare of residents. We are a group of neighbors who help make sure that Linkwood stays engaged and beautiful as a small neighborhood.

Your annual dues pay for:
  • Private security services from S.E.A.L. (40 hours a week of patrols)
  • Vacation watches for dues-paying residents provided by S.E.A.L.
  • Access to our S.E.A.L. deputies via dispatchers
  • Esplanade beautification, maintenance and landscaping (mowing, planting, trimming trees, and irrigation on South Braeswood from Ilona west to Stella Link, and south on Stella Link to Latma)
  • Maintain the linkwoodhouston.com website
  • Neighborhood parties (fall and spring catered dinners)

LINKWOOD NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

What: National Night Out with friends, neighbors, and local law enforcement. Bring finger foods, beverages, and your competitive edge for some lawn games!
Where: The Gruber Home Front Lawn (3815 Linkea Dr.)
When: Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 5:30 - 7:30 PM


LINKWOOD FALL MEETING

What: 
  • BBQ dinner provided for Linkwood dues paying members. Please bring any potluck items you might want to add (dessert, drinks, appetizers). 
  • Bounce house, sponsored by Lisa Skaggs, Skaggs Realty Group, your very own local real estate.
  • Gift card drawing just for showing up!
  • Kids Costume Content (trophy for the winner)
  • Neighborhood Updates
  • Houston Food Bank Food Drive. Bring any items you wish to donate to the meeting, or drop off at 8719 Linkfair until November 15th.

Come meet neighbors, catch up on neighborhood news, hear from our Council Member and have a meal! Free Fajita Pete's dinner, bouncy castle, slide and popsicles starting at 4 pm. Bring the kids!

When: Sunday, May 5, 4-7 pm
Where: Gruber Home, 3815 Linklea Drive

We will have plenty of tables and folding chairs for people to eat and sit at, however please feel free to bring your own for comfort, etc.... We will have water and sodas for beverages.  BYOB if you care to. We will have an iced cooler to store it in.

Martha Castex-Tatum is planning to join us and is prepped to speak at the start of the meeting so please arrive early to ensure you don't miss any of what she has to say! An RSVP is not necessary but recommended and appreciated to president@linkwoodhouston.com

Meeting Summary

Starting on January 1, 2024, the Linkwood Civic Club annual dues payment will increase by $25 per year, to $300 from $275. Through the end of 2023, you can pre-pay your 2024 dues at the old rate of $275!

Fall Civic Club Meeting + Potluck: Sunday, Oct. 29

Please join our our annual Fall Civic Club Meeting and Potluck where we discuss goings-on in the neighborhood, mingle with neighbors, new and old and enjoy great food.  This year we will also have a drawing for a Slow Poke Gift Card and a Best Costume Contest for the kid's.  Costumes are encouraged for all ages.

In addition, this year we are running a food drive to benefit the Houston Food Bank.  Please bring any items you wish to donate to the meeting or drop off between October 27th-31st to the Skaggs Household (8719 Linkfair). Link for the Food Bank's most needed items.

    Garbage Pickup, Heavy Trash, & Recycling

    Regular trash pickup is every Thursday. Recycling pick-up is every other Thursday. Junk Waste pickup is the 3rd Tuesday of even-numbered months. Tree waste pickup is the 3rd Tuesday of odd-numbered months.
