Please join Linkwood and Woodshire neighborhoods for our annual National Night Out! This is a great way to meet new neighbors, see longtime friends, meet local police officers, and enjoy our beautiful neighborhood! Please bring a finger food to share. Tables with information about our upcoming deed restrictions amendments will be set up at the entrance to the park on Ilona @ Linkwood Drive.
Due to the input of fellow Linkwood residents over the years, the Linkwood Civic Club has begun the process of aggregating an amendment to our neighborhood deed restrictions. Per the current restrictions, amendments can be affirmed by " (a) the affirmative vote, by written ballot, of owners owning not less than sixty percent (60%) of the total number of lots in the Subdivision, present in person or by proxy at duly constituted meetings of the owners, or (b) written instrument, in recordable form, signed by owners of at least sixty percent (60%) of the total number of lots in the Subdivision."
Three meetings have been scheduled to address the proposed changes to the deed restrictions. Residents do not need to attend all three meetings. The meetings' purpose is to inform residents of proposed changes, and to take feedback on these changes. In between meetings, notes from the previous meetings will be emailed to residents. At the final meeting, on May 19, we will ask for residents to commit their final vote for or against the proposed changes. PLEASE TRY TO ATTEND THE BELOW MEETING, IF ONLY JUST TO VOTE ON THE DEED RESTRICTION AMENDMENT. Spring 2019 Meeting Sunday, May 19, 3:30 - 6:30 pm Tapester's Grill Our meetings will be structured similar to the District K Capital Improvement Plan meetings. Anyone may ask a question or make a comment for a specified period of time in order to ensure an efficient, informative process. If you are unable to attend a meeting, notes will be recorded and distributed following the meeting. The Linkwood Civic Club has been made aware of several other resources available to our community. These are locally-based sources of funding and case management for various issues related to Hurricane Harvey.
SHUR (Southwest Houston United Responds): "Formed in April 2018 to help our neighbors rebuild Harvey damaged homes, SHUR is a non-profit corporation performing repair services for homeowners whose residence was damaged by Hurricane Harvey and its associated flooding. We assist homeowners who cannot afford commercial services to rebuild their home." Jewish Family Service: "We offer a partnership between a case manager and a family or individual affected by a disaster to develop and carry out a Recovery Plan. Our program often includes resources or funding and/or technical assistance to ensure holistic services to allow our clients to recover and repair or find a new home." Available to all residents in 77025, and many other zip codes. Call JFS at 713-667-9336 and ask for a Case Manager or email [email protected] Other Resources to Review: From the Rice University Hurricane Harvey Registry Resources page. Harris County Flood Control District: Brays Bayou Watershed Rice University has initiated the Hurricane Harvey Registry, a research study that collects information on the impact of Hurricane Harvey on our communities. Participants take on average about 10 minutes to complete this survey.
What is included in the Registry? It is a brief core survey with questions on health, housing, and vehicle damage resulting from Hurricane Harvey. Who should complete the Registry's survey? Any adult in the Harvey-impacted area. If there is more than one adult per household, we ask that each adult complete the survey individually. Your answers are important whether Harvey impacted you severely, lightly, or not at all. Why should I take the Registry's survey? The information gathered through the Registry will be used to serve and inform the Harvey-impacted communities. Measuring who is being impacted and how will help to direct the continuing Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts, and plan for the future. The survey is available in English and Spanish here: https://harveyregistry.rice.edu/ 2019 is here, and it is time to pay your Linkwood Civic Club dues!
Your annual dues pay for: ● private security services from S.E.A.L. ● maintenance to our entrances and medians ● neighborhood events The Linkwood Civic Club of Houston, Texas, Inc. was created to enable the neighborhood to develop and maintain common areas, and to provide for social welfare of residents. Whether you are new to the neighborhood, are a longtime resident, or are temporarily displaced, we welcome your contribution to maintain the Linkwood community. The dues for 2019 are unchanged from the previous year, and are $275. Without your civic club dues, these services and activities would not be possible. If you pay by debit/credit card, you will receive an emailed receipt. For instructions on how to pay by check, click on the "JOIN THE CIVIC CLUB/PAY DUES" tab above. The process by which the Linkwood Civic Club receives plans submitted in accordance with our deed restrictions has changed. Please see the new submittal guidelines and FAQ's under the "Deed Restriction" tab. A new PDF has been posted which instructs homeowners and architectural firms how to submit plans for review.
Neighbors gathered at the home of Bruce and Mary Anderson to connect, socialize, and thank SER Contractors for their work in re-building our streets and sidewalks. We are grateful for our community, and look forward to more neighborhood gatherings!

Those entering Linkwood will be welcomed with a fresh new look, as the board of the Linkwood Civic Club unveils two new signs, one at the intersection of Stella Link Rd. and S.
